Four Directions Altar Cloth | Round | 9"

Both grounding and expansive, this piece serves as a reminder that all paths, when walked with awareness, lead back to connection, harmony, and the heart of nature. Divided into four radiant quadrants, the design evokes the sacred directions, the changing seasons, and the elemental forces that guide growth, transformation, and spiritual alignment.

Each section contains mirrored botanical forms stitched in luminous jewel tones, symbolizing the duality and reciprocity found throughout nature light and shadow, movement and stillness, grounding and expansion. At the center, intersecting pathways converge like a woven compass, reminding us that every journey begins from within.

Inspired by the visionary textile traditions of the Shipibo-Conibo people, the surrounding geometric embroidery reflects patterns associated with energetic flow, interconnectedness, and the unseen architecture of the living world. Brilliant purples, electric greens, blues, and vivid pinks emerge against the dark background like illuminated visions carried through thread and cloth.

The circular form represents wholeness and continuity, while the fourfold symmetry invites clarity, focus, and inner balance. Ideal for altars, meditation spaces, ceremony, or sacred home décor, this one-of-a-kind textile carries the intention, artistry, and cultural spirit of Amazonian craftsmanship in every stitch.

This altar cloth was hand-embroidered in the Peruvian Amazon and sourced through the Aya Madre Healing Center near Iquitos, Peru, in support of traditional Shipibo artistry, sacred healing traditions, and the work of the Pangoza family community.
